Volunteer

We are an all-volunteer organization. In addition to those wonderful individuals who organize and run diaper drives, we have only six individuals that help on a regular basis to build and operate the diaper bank. As we’ve grown we have been stretched very thin. We need volunteers of all types.

First we need volunteers that are willing to commit for an extended period of time. You would commit for a at least 3 months for perhaps 4-8 hours each month. Your could help by:

  • supporting diaper drives,
  • managing distribution partners,
  • raising awareness,
  • creating and managing support literature,
  • website support,
  • corporate awareness,
  • grant applications,
  • volunteer coordinator, and in many other ways.

Second, we need volunteers who can respond to fill sporadic and sometimes emergent needs. These volunteers would be contacted as the need arises. They would fill roles like:
  • preparing and/or delivering our monthly diaper distributions,
  • helping with inventory when large diaper drives complete,
  • staffing booths at the farmers markets or volunteer fairs,
  • picking up or delivery diapers.

To find out more or even thinking that this might be right for you, please contact us at volunteer@utahdiaperbank.org. If you want to help but do not see something that appeals to you or quite fits, please, contact us anyway. We have only listed a few of the ways we need help - there are other ways you can help. You may even be able to tell us how best you can help. A willingness and desire to help is the primary skill needed. Believe me,  can find a productive way for you to contribute to this important cause.

The Diaper Bank movement began in 1994 when a small consulting firm decided to give back to their local community during the holiday season. Resolve Inc., located in Tucson, Arizona began their philanthropic endeavor by collecting diapers for a local crisis nursery. Their annual diaper collection tradition continued, and only five years later they were able to collect 300,000 diapers for 30 different agencies
